Miss Sandra Rivera / Studio owner / Director / Teacher
Miss Sandra enjoys sharing her love of performing with her students. She studied dance locally as a child & began teaching at the age of 16. She tested & became a certified dance teacher with Dance Masters of America. After many years of teaching & managing studios, Miss Sandra auditioned for her first professional show & began traveling the country singing & dancing at numerous theme parks & on cruise ships. She has worked locally for over 20 years extensively at Derby Dinner Playhouse & also for Music Theater Louisville, not only as a performer but also as a choreographer. She is currently a proud member of the Footnotes & sings every night at Derby Dinner Playhouse. Miss Sandra also choreographs shows for New Albany High School & Jeffersonville High School.
Mr. Frank Goodloe / Dance & Voice Teacher & Drama Director
Mr. Frank is a former football player turned dancer. He worked in children’s theater for years with the Blue Apple Players performing & touring the region. He has traveled the country performing at many theme parks including Coney Island & CanobieLakePark. Mr. Frank has worked locally for Derby Dinner Playhouse, Music Theater Louisville, Centerstage, Pandora & Paddlewheel Productions. He co-directs our Dancensation musicals & Showbiz Kids groups with Miss Sandra & this is his 14th year teaching for Dancensation.
Miss Dana Jo Adams / Voice Teacher
Miss Dana has been singing professionally for nearly 30 years. She was awarded a vocal scholarship at EKU & graduated with a BFA in Performing Arts. She has performed in Europe,Japan& on Hawaiian Cruise Lines. Locally, Miss Dana has performed with the KY. Opera, Music TheaterLouisville,DerbyDinner Playhouse & in the Stephen Foster Story. She is another one of our wonderful teachers who performs as a Footnote at Derby Dinner. She is proud mother of 3, Wesley who is a student at WKU & 2 daughters who are both Dancensation Stars, Ashley Kate, who is currently living the dream in NYC & Audrey Belle, who is a Performer of the Year award winner, Showbiz Kid, competition level dancer & assistant teacher at Dancensation. Miss Dana has been teaching for Dancensation for 8 years.
Miss Sharon Murray Harrah / Voice Teacher
Miss Sharon has entertained audiences on four continents, from NYC to Africa, Russia and Asia. A veteran of hundreds of stage and cabaret productions, she appeared on Broadway in Hal Prince’s GRIND starring with Ben Vereen and Stubby Kaye, for which she received a Drama Desk nomination (NY Critics). She started directing children’s shows in NYC in 1985. Her one-woman cabaret shows have been seen at Caroline’s and Catch A Rising Star in NYC. She was seen on Fox-TV’s THIS CRAZY LIFE as a series regular . Since being home in Louisville she has founded New Girl Productions and has produced and/or directed THE BALLAD OFLITTLE MIKEY at ATL, QUILT at the Playhouse and SIX WOMEN WITH BRAINDEATH at KCA. Most recently she appeared with Val Kilmer in the soon-to-be-released film RIDDLE. She is gratefully married to Arnie Harrah, news director at FOX-TV and the proud mother of Theo Harrah.
MISS JILL SULLIVAN / Dance, Voice & Musical Theater teacher
Jill Sullivan is a Louisville native who has spent the past two years in NYC! Along with being an actor herself, she also has many years of experience in
teaching voice and dance as well as music and theatre in the classroom! Jill has over 15 years of training in the arts, including The Barrow Group acting
school in NYC. She has performed in numerous theaters in the Mid-West and East Coast. Some of her favorite roles include Tracy Turnblad in HAIRSPRAY (Derby Dinner Playhouse, Beef & Boards Dinner Theater, Ivoryton Playhouse and CenterStage), Sylvia in STEPPING OUT (Hudson Theater),
Jennyanydots in CATS (Music Theater of Louisville), Kate in ZANNA DON'T (Pandora Productions), and Jan in GREASE (CenterStage).
In addition to performing on stage, Jill has had the opportunity to work with children and teens through various camps, talent shows, school productions and
in the classroom. She has served as a Music and Theater teacher at St. Stephen Martyr School and has directed and choreographed several children's shows for grades K-8. Kate E. Reedy – Dance teacher
Kate E. Reedy has a BFA in Musical Theatre and Jazz Dance minor from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Originally from Louisville, she graduate from the Youth Performing Arts School/DuPont Manual High School with a Dance Major and a Musical Theatre minor and is thrilled to be returning to the Kentuckian area to share what she has learned! She has previously been seen in Legally Blonde (Elle), Joseph... (Narrator), Rent (Mimi), Ragtime (Evelyn & choreographer) & Company (Sarah) at Centerstage theater. The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Columbia/Usherette), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Rita/Dance Ensemble/Asst. Choreographer), Carousel (Dance Ensemble/Dance Captain), The Light in the Piazza (Dance Ensemble/Dance Captain), and Peter and the Wolf (Asst. Choreographer and Director) at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Other favorites include: POP! (Viva; City Theatre of Pittsburgh), Kiss Me Kate (Bianca/Lois Lane/Choreographer; Trinity Theatre), Cinderella (Fairy Godmother/Choreographer; Music Theatre of Louisville), Bat Boy (Shelley; Trinity Theatre), Babes In Arms (Bunny/Co-Choreographer; Trinity Theatre), High School Musical (Dance Ensemble; Derby Dinner Playhouse), Captain Louie (Angie/Flower; Derby Dinner Playhouse), Beauty and the Beast (Silly Girl/Dancing Napkin; Music Theatre of Louisville), Show Boat (Ellie/Dance Captain; Youth Performing Arts School), 9 to 5 (Ensemble/Derby Dinner Playhouse) and 42nd Street (Winnie/Dance Ensemble; Music Theatre of Louisville). She has choreographed for Trinity High School's Theatre Department, CenterStage, Village Dance Theatre, Music Theatre of Louisville, and the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Miss Glo Cleary / Dance Teacher
Glo is a YPAS graduate who was a dance major with a degree dance with a concentration in ballet & pointe. She is fluent in tap, jazz & ballet as she trained and danced with KTDS for over 20 years. Miss Glo & Miss Sandra grew up together & she is excited to teach for our Star Staff.
Mr. Chris Bryant / Voice & Piano Teacher
Chris Bryant has been Musical Director for Stage One Family Theatre, CenterStage, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Clarksville Little Theatre and Kandel Theatre Company. Chris is also an actor having performed locally with Derby Dinner Playhouse, Stage One, Riverstage, Music Theatre Louisville, Centerstage, and Pandora Productions. Miss Kiersten Vorheis / Voice & Dance Teacher
Kiersten holds a BA in theater performance from Indiana University. Originally from Iowa, she has been performing in musicals across the country for the past 15 years. She has studied tap, ballet & jazz since she was 3 years old. She has performed not only regionally but has also been out on a few Nationals tours. Kiersten is a regular performer at Derby Dinner Playhouse.
Mr. Matthew Brennan / Dance Teacher
Matthew Brennan has been performing professionally for 20 years. He learned his first time step backstage at the age of 10. His first tap lessons took place in his mother’s kitchen with loose change scotch taped to sneakers for tap shoes and a VHS copy of Singin’ In the Rain for a teacher. Originally from Chicago he studied musical theatre at WSU in Dayton OH and then moved to NYC. He is now proud to call Louisville home where he works regularly with Stage One and at Derby Dinner Playhouse where he often gets to share the stage with the impeccably glittery and talented Miss Sandra!!! Miss Kodi Schlenker / Dance Teacher & Receptionist
Miss Kodi grew up at Dancensation & was a student from age 5 to 18. Miss Kodi was a competition level dancer & Showbiz Kid participating in 100’s of local shows & competitions. She has won 1st place at the KY State Fair Coca Cola Talent Classic as well as many overall awards with Dancensation. Her performing career took her to Universal Studios, Disney World, Kings Island, Holiday World & on even a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. Congrats & welcome to the teaching staff Miss Kodi.
Miss Audrey Belle Adams / Voice & Dance Student Teacher
Miss Audrey has also grown up at Dancensation & is currently a Showbiz Kid & a competition level dancer. She has performed all over the world. She is a Musical Theater major at YPAS who starred as “Linda” in “The Wedding Singer” last year & is performing the role of “Marmee” in “Little Women” this year. Audrey has performed extensively at Derby Dinner Playhouse & with many other local theater companies. Miss Audrey has played many roles in Dancensation musicals including “Millie” in “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, “Mrs. Potts” in “Beauty & the Beast” & “Glinda” in “Wizard of Oz”. She will play “Miss Hannigan” in our upcoming production of “Annie”. Miss Audrey won the top title of Performer of the Year at Dancensation in 2010.
Miss Allie Hall / Dance Student Teacher
Miss Allie has been with Dancensation for 11 years & is currently a Showbiz Kid & a competition level dancer at Dancensation. This year she is a Senior at Eastern HS where she is very involved with their award winning choir. Her previous roles at Dancensation include “Dorothy" in “The Wizard of Oz", “Madame de le Grande Bouche" in “Beauty & the Beast” & “Grace Farrell" in “Annie”. She is winner of Dancensation’s Performer of the Year title 2012.
